A French national, François Curiel is a leading figure in the international auction world. A reputed jewelry specialist responsible for Christie’s global jewelry auctions and a member of the firm’s Group Management Committee, he has been described in the press as one of the ten greatest auctioneers of our time. In 1996, he was awarded the prestigious Antwerp Diamond Career Award from the Diamond High Council in Belgium, a distinction given to fewer than ten international personalities. In 2000 he was appointed Chevalier of the Legion of Honor and in 2001, he became a member of the French Market Auction Authority, the regulatory body that oversees the auction system in France.
