Gilles Lipovetsky was born in France in 1944. He is a philosophy teacher and was made Doctor Honoris Causa by Sherbrooke University (Canada) and The New Bulgarian University (Sofia). His main research fields are transformations of the rules, values and behaviours in developed western societies, business ethics in big industrials and banking corporations and individualism, luxury, consumption and modern ways of life.
He has intervened as a speaker and consultant in companies as varied as Chanel, Guerlain, Cartier, Elf, Coca Cola, Ikea, Nestlé, Boston Consulting Group, Bouygues Telecom, EDF… He has published over ten books translated or about to be translated into 18 languages.
