An author, historian, journalist and informed observer of the Fine Watch sector, Nicholas Foulkes is a regular contributor to various newspapers, including the Financial Times and The Mail on Sunday Review. He has written over a dozen books on subjects as diverse as James Bond, cigars, The Carlyle Hotel and the trenchcoat. His works of history include Dancing Into Battle, A Social History of the Battle of Waterloo and Gentlemen and Blackguards : Gambling Mania and the Plot to Steal the Derby of 1844, to be published this year. Named « Havana Man of the Year » in 2007, in 2009 he was appointed to the board of the Norman Mailer Writers’ Colony.
